Profile

Devin Drover has a wide-ranging advocacy practice focused on employment law, municipal law, and public law and human rights. He has appeared at all levels of court in Newfoundland and Labrador,  various administrative tribunals, and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Devin has resolved cases concerning:

  • Employment disputes, including wrongful or constructive dismissal, the enforcement of non-solicitation and non-competition clauses, and the interpretation of employment contracts and policies;
  • Municipal issues, including property expropriation, tax collection, by-law enforcement and appeals of municipal permits and development decisions; and
  • Public law and human rights, including the protection of privacy and access to information, discrimination under the Human Rights Act, and the care and protection of vulnerable peoples including children, youth, seniors, and those with intellectual disabilities.

Devin serves as the St. John’s Chapter President of the Runnymede Society, a national constitutional law membership organization, and as the Section Chair for Privacy and Access Law for the Canadian Bar Association – Newfoundland and Labrador.

Originally from Spaniard’s Bay, Devin was admitted to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 2021. He holds a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
