Danielle Somerton is an Associate Lawyer with Benson Buffett practicing civil litigation and specializing in municipal law. Serving the municipal sector has gained Danielle significant experience in local governance and municipal administration, but also has stemmed into working in construction and procurement, development and planning, expropriation and land uses, and general administrative law matters. Danielle has experience with matters before the Regional Appeal Boards constituted under the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000 and has appeared before the Supreme and Provincial Courts of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Danielle was admitted to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 2012 as a graduate of the University of New Brunswick’s Faculty of Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from Memorial University.
Danielle is an active member and volunteer for several local and provincial charities and serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Parkinson Society of NL.
